One…Hot…Truck

Roger and I were able to get away at the last minute and go to the oyster dinner in Mount Airy. It is put on by the volunteer fire department. The fried oysters didn’t seem to be as tasty as other years. But the trucks were still there for an up close and personal view.

Mil

My dear friend, Mil, died last Monday after a short illness.

A couple of pictures – at home on his 88th birthday in 2003.

And at the Potomac Valley Games Track meet in September 2003.

Spring Cleaning

My mother, Dorothy, came for Easter dinner. She helped me to clean out the pantry while she was here, and I did her taxes for her. A good deal for both of us…Here she is counting how many jars of gravy we have. And we had to mock some of the purchases Roger had made over the years… Our pantry is too deep, so things get shoved to the back, and then I am too lazy to figure out if I have something, so I buy it again. We threw away or gave away about 1/3 of the contents – yeah!

Soup with Mom!

Roger and I drove to Baltimore to take my mother to dinner for her birthday which is next week. We went to Ploughboy Soup at Atwater’s at the Belvedere Square. We tried all of the 3 available soups & two of the sandwiches. Afterwards, we had dessert in another part of the market. It was just the right thing on a rainy Saturday.
