I flew into Denver, Colorado on August 13 and spent the night near the airport. The next morning, I met Sandy at the airport, we picked up the rental car, and we headed for Laramie, Wyoming. My first event was the US Night-O Championships on my birthday. I didn’t do as well as last year, earned silver this year, but I had fun. The next day was a sprint race as a fundraiser for the US Team. I provided a birthday sheet cake which was served out of the back of my rental SUV. After a couple of more days, Sandy, Clem, and I drove to Lake George, Colorado. We stayed at the M Lazy C Ranch about 5 miles from Lake George, CO. Had the use of the Prospector cabin – kitchen facilities allowed us to eat three pasta dinners instead of eating out. The week finished with the US Championships.
I used my Garmin Forerunner 205 to track my routes around the courses.
Here are my routes:
US Night-O Championships Green – The Lights of Cheyenne
US Team Fundraiser Sprint – Gates of AMT Hell
Crystal Relay Leg 3 – Antenna Hill
Middle Distance A Meet Green – First with the Most
US Championships Day 1 Green – Buena Vista
US Championships Day 2 Green – The Big Sandy
