I made this quilt top 10+ years ago from some of the first fabric packs I bought. I worked on it by hand while Roger was in the hospital. When I got stuck on finishing it, I donated it to the local quilt group I belong to. It was bought by Diane H.
About a year ago, I started wishing I had the quilt back. So, a couple of weeks ago, I emailed Diane and asked her if she was willing to sell it back to me. Here was her response: “I’ve had a feeling all along that someday you were going to be sorry that you let go of that great quilt top. I’d started to draw out a quilting design for it (only on paper, not on the quilt) but something made me set it aside. It is really your quilt & yes, you are welcome to it. I have already gotten a lot of enjoyment out of just looking at it pinned up on my design wall every so often.”
I picked it up at the quilting bee. Diane has suggested a way to quilt it, and I believe I will give it a try. I am very grateful for Diane’s generosity.
You know I love those quilts. Now I’m waiting for the Thanksgiving pictures 🙂 Then I’ll be looking for all of the ornament pictures.
