Riding the T-rails

On Sunday, I went out my door (almost literally) to the W&OD bike trail for my longest ride since high school – 31 miles. The W&OD is along an old railroad bed. The trail is very urban here – lots of road crossings, and people biking, running, and walking.

Long time handy neighbor, Ed – who has just turned 90, is offering his assistance.
Ron and Ed are making progress. They have taken some breaks because of the heat. Update: project was finished 2 days later. After 20+ years, the railing is whole again!

This turtle was moving quickly along the sidewalk – possibly towards the garden. It is going to be disappointed because Roger didn’t put in any tomatoes this year. It has a scarred shell.
Update: Roger found the turtle near the street earlier and put it in the back garden. Less than an hour later it was back out front where I found it – making a jail break , much to Roger’s disappointment. We have had a turtle in the garden as far back as we can remember except for last year.
