One of my favorite quilts, the Mariner’s Compass. I love the geometric design, and the fact that the compass ties in with my love of orienteering. This quilt was made with the paper piecing method.

Valerie–Glen just found your blog last night and told me about it, and told me that you had a category for quilts! Okay-now I know at least 5 quilter-orienteers: Eileen Breseman, Peggy, Mary Jo Childs, you and me. I’m sure there are others who haven’t yet come out of the woorwork.
Is the Mariner’s Compass hanging one that you made? How about the lighthouse one that you’re pictured with? Others?
And geez–now that you’ve talked to Peter (for O hints), I don’t stand a chance… 🙂
I made a T-shirt quilt for the Bundschuhs as part of a US Team fundraiser a couple of year’s ago. And yes, I did make the Mariner’s Compass (the only quilt hanging in my home right now), and the Lighthouse quilt (it was Grand Champion at our county fair a couple of year’s ago and went to my longtime physician).
I have made about 150-200 quilts of varying sizes over the last 14 years.
Peggy quilts mostly by hand. Whereas I have no patience and have to get done, so I only use a machine except for the binding.
I haven’t made anything in about a year – way too many other distractions. But I am gearing up to start again when it gets cooler.
My blog needs work in the quilt area. I hope to get some of my favorites scanned and posted soon.
